DESCRIPTION:

Obtain your freedom while diving deeper into God's plan for your life with this daily discipleship field guide.

Diving Deeper demonstrates how to obtain freedom from every form of bondage and how to achieve positive, measureable results in daily life through the personal empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

Additionally, this field guide provides Holy Spirit guidance for the personal application of scripture for every challenge of life. Diving Deeper is written in a daily format to encourage the habit of seeking God every day so that personal spiritual growth can take place.

In Matthew 28:18, the last command Jesus gave His followers was to "go and make disciples". A "disciple" is a "disciplined learner". Someone who is a "church member" is not necessarily a "disciple". This discipleship field guide is for anyone who wants to be a "disciplined learner" by growing in knowledge of the Scriptures, and being led by the Holy Spirit to apply the Word to every life situation.

Jesus came to restore us to relationship with our Heavenly Father. The Holy Spirit is our Teacher, Counselor, Friend, Helper and Guide. Committing a block of time daily with Him is a key to growing in relationship to our Father.

This book helps the believer establish the discipline of spending time daily in the Word, and with the Holy Spirit. Seeking God earnestly every day results in personal spiritual growth and rewards (Hebrews 11:6).

"I was bound in prisons of my own making - addictions, pride, depression, anger, bi-polar illness, un-forgiveness, shame, regret, etc. - long before I was incarcerated behind the steel bars and razor wire of a penal institution. The Truth I found in Jesus and His Word by His Holy Spirit set me free long before I was released to the free world. God did it for me; He will for you." Stephen Canup

Stephen Canup is the President of Freedom in Jesus Prison Ministries and author of other books including Jail-House Religion: From Park Avenue... to Park Bench... to Prison, and also Knowing the One Who Leads You: 100 Days of Holy Spirit Fellowship.

EXCERPT:

INTRODUCTION

In Matthew 28:18, the last command Jesus gave His followers was to “go and make disciples”. A “disciple” is a “disciplined learner”. A church member is not necessarily a “disciple”.

This “Discipleship Field Guide” is for anyone who wants to become a more “disciplined learner” by growing in knowledge of the Scriptures, and by being led by the Spirit to apply the Word to every life situation.

The Bible gives us guidance as to the attributes of a disciple:

·         Disciples are proven by their fruit (John 15:8).

·         Disciples are proven by their love for one another (John 13:34-35).

·         Disciples are hated by the world (John 15:18-19).

·         Disciples are persecuted by those who do not know God (John 15:20-21).

·         Disciples should be like their teacher (Luke 6:40).

·         Disciples should obey their teacher (Luke 6:46).1

Jesus came to restore us to relationship with our Father. The Holy Spirit is our Teacher, Counselor, Friend, Helper and Guide. The practice of committing a block of time daily with Him is a key to growing in relationship with our Heavenly Father.

This book helps the believer establish the discipline of spending time daily in the Word, and with the Holy Spirit. Seeking God earnestly every day results in personal spiritual growth and rewards (Hebrews 11:6).

Diving Deeperdemonstrates how to obtain freedom from every form of bondage. I was bound in prisons of my own making – addictions, pride, depression, anger, bi-polar illness, un-forgiveness, shame, regret, etc. – long before I was incarcerated behind the steel bars and razor wire of a penal institution. The Truth I found in Jesus and His Word by His Holy Spirit set me free long before I was released to the free world.

You too can obtain positive measureable results in your life through the daily, personal application of Scripture; and, the personal empowerment of the presence of the Holy Spirit. Paul closes his second letter to the Corinthians by stressing the importance of the presence, communion, sharing together, and fellowship with the Holy Spirit:

“The grace (favor and spiritual blessing) of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the presence and fellowship (the communion and sharing together, and participation) in the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen (so be it).” (2 Corinthians 13:14, AMP)

REVIEWS:

“Thank you for writing Diving Deeper. I am in a cell with several others and I have turned your book into a daily Bible study to teach others. We meet every morning and start the day off with this devotional.”

“I’m a 74 yr. old Army Veteran with 3 college degrees and nothing to show for it but a miserable past. Like you, I had an addiction that absolutely ruined my life, my marriage, and often thought about ending my life. I’m sick of my old way of life. All my life I have been an on-again off-again Christian but never really meant it in my heart.

I found your book in the dayroom and picked it up; after reading your book, Diving Deeper, this time I am all in and honestly mean it. I also prayed for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I know God still has a plan for my life. I desire to change the direction of my life as my time here on earth is quickly running out.”

“As I sit waiting to see the Dr., I am reading my Diving Deeper book. I have laid my book of Mormonism down. I have never left Diving Deeper, will not do it. I love how it relates to my everyday life. I love it. Thank you for writing this book.”

“I wanted to thank you for your book, Diving Deeper.  I am a NEW MAN in Christ and not the Gang banger I once was. I go home in 10 months after 10 years and I’m not sure what God has in store for me but I do know Diving Deeper will go with.  Thanks Mr. Canup, God loves you.”

“Thank you for Diving Deeper; it is the first daily devotional I read every day. I look forward every day to waking up and reading it and my Bible.”

"I just received your book, “Diving Deeper” and it has inspired me to go all in and rededicate my life to Christ. I also prayed to be baptized with the Holy Spirit and let me say, I’ve never prayed like that before and it has totally transformed me."
