Description

Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." If Jesus is "the way", there must be a destination! I used to think the destination was Heaven, but Jesus tells us the destination is the Father and He is the only way to get there. The destination is not a place; it is a Person-God the Father.

Excerpt

"Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." John 17:3

"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10b

"When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father-the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father-he will testify about me." John 15:26

It is not about religious rites, rules or rituals; rather, all truth and life is found in our intimacy of relationship with God the Father, because of the finished work of Jesus, through the Holy Spirit. Jesus Himself is the Way to the Father.

Having a full life and living in the Truth begins when you are born again; and, it is experienced in an intimate personal relationship with the Father.

One of the primary purposes of Jesus coming to live among us was to show us the Father and provide a way for humanity to return to an intimate relationship with Him similar to what Adam and Eve had in the Garden before they sinned.

"Jesus makes God known to us as father. The Jews had known God as Yahweh for fourteen centuries, but the person who could introduce Him as Father was His Son." Derek Prince

The word "father" is used about 350 times in the New Testament. Of these, I counted 265 times where the term "Father" is used in reference to God. About 70% of the time (192), it was Jesus speaking! Most of these 192 occurrences were the words of Jesus in Matthew (44) and in the Gospel of John (122). Jesus wanted His disciples to know the Father!
